Welcome to the Souhegan Valley Lacrosse Club 2018 Spring Season
Welcome to the Souhegan Valley Lacrosse Club 2018Spring Season
Lacrosse is a fast paced, action packed contact sport that combines the field sense of soccer, the teamwork of basketball, and the thrill of hockey. Anyone can play lacrosse, regardless of size. The game requires and rewards coordination and agility, not necessarily brawn.
Lacrosse (often abbreviated as “LAX” for shorthand) is one of the fastest growing sports in the nation with new and growing programs at all our area high schools. Now in our 24th season, the “River Hawks” are proud to be one of the premiere community lacrosse programs in New Hampshire.
“River Hawks” Spring Lacrosse provides excellent conditioning to keep your youth athlete in shape. So, if you are a new to lacrosse we welcome you to sign-up. For our returning players, we can’t wait to see you in the spring.
What is the Spring Lacrosse practice and game schedule like?
The Spring Lacrosse season starts the first week of April and ends with our NHYLA Festival on June 9 & 10. Games are generally scheduled on Sundays, with younger levels playing earlier in the day and older levels playing later in the day. Practices are 2 nights a week during the season.
NOTE: Spring Practice will begin in-doors at the Hampshire Dome on March 5th. Practices will be held on Monday and Wednesday for both boys and girls. Times TBD.
What are the age groupings for Spring Lacrosse?
Teams are based on the age groupings defined by NHYLA and US Lacrosse. - 8U, 10U, 12, and 14U.
Where can I go to learn more about the sport of lacrosse?
Lacrosse is one of the nation's fastest growing sports and there are great resources available online. One of the best resources for players and parents is YouTube, where you can find instructional videos and watch full lacrosse games and highlights. We have an index of resources available on our website at www.souheganvalleylacrosse.com. We also recommend US Lacrosse as a good place to start.
The Souhegan Valley Lacrosse Club program strives to serve our community by providing a competitive, fun, and safe environment where our Souhegan Valley Community youths develop as athletes, learn teamwork and the love of the game.
Greetings to All of our Valued Hampshire Dome Customers:
We are grateful that your organization has chosen the Hampshire Dome to be your winter training facility. We thank you for your patience as we finish up the construction inside.
I hope things are going well for you this winter. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to enhance your experience.
I want to take this opportunity to send you a copy of the updated Dome “Rules” – see attached. I would ask that you distribute this to your players, coaches, and families. Most of the rules are the same as prior year’s and most you will agree are pretty common senseJ. I would call your attention to a couple of noteworthy items:
Field Changeovers – these are scheduled so that new groups coming on start right on the hour or half hour. To make this happen, 5 minutes prior to a field changeover, the group currently on field should stop play and begin to clean up so as to be completely off the field in time. Accordingly, if you have an hour rental, that means 55 minutes of field usage and the final five minutes for clean up. Feel free to ask our staff for the best off field spot to conduct team meetings.
We provide complimentary Fitness Walking to parents who have a child on the field, either via a field rental, sports clinic, or league play. However, all runners must wear a Dome Bracelet, which is available at the Front Desk for a fee to the public or for free to members of Hampshire Hills Athletic Club who scan or check in at the Front Desk.
Thank you for your help and cooperation. We are very proud to provide you with the premier indoor facility in the region.

Opening an exit door in the absence of a life emergency situation is strictly prohibited.
Use revolving doors slowly and carefully — don't allow children to play with doors.
If someone is bringing in a stroller, bike, or other device they may use the handicap door, but must make sure that one door is closed before the other is open.
